Terms & conditions.
The terms under which Aircooled Hut UK Ltd supplies engines, gearboxes, parts, machine work, workshop services, vehicle storage and all other goods and services.
By placing an order or instructing Aircooled Hut UK Ltd to carry out work, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Quotes & Estimates
All prices displayed on our website or provided verbally are estimates only and may vary depending on the condition of the engine, parts availability, machining requirements and the scope of work required.
A written quotation or invoice supersedes any published price list or verbal estimate.
2. VAT
Unless otherwise stated, all prices are quoted plus VAT at the prevailing UK rate.
Trade accounts and trade pricing are available on application.
3. Exchange Engines
Refurbished engines are supplied on an exchange basis wherever applicable, or preferably by rebuilding the customer's own engine.
Exchange prices apply only where the returned core engine is considered suitable for reconditioning.
Engines with excessive damage, missing major components or components deemed beyond economical repair may incur additional charges.
4. Deposits & Payment
A deposit may be required to secure a workshop booking, engine build, gearbox build or to order specialist parts.
The remaining balance must be paid in full before goods are collected, dispatched or released.
We accept bank transfer and major debit or credit cards.
5. Lead Times
Estimated completion dates are provided as a guide only and cannot be guaranteed.
Lead times may vary due to workshop demand, supplier delays, machining requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Customers will be kept updated wherever reasonably possible.
6. Customer-Supplied Parts
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd reserves the right to charge a handling and inspection fee of up to 20% of the value of customer-supplied parts.
No warranty is provided on customer-supplied components and Aircooled Hut UK Ltd accepts no responsibility for failures caused by those parts.
Where customer-supplied parts require additional preparation, machining or fitting, additional labour charges may apply.
7. Machine Shop Services
All machining is carried out using measurements and tolerances agreed between Aircooled Hut UK Ltd and the customer where applicable.
Customers supplying their own components accept responsibility for ensuring those components are suitable for machining.
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd accepts no responsibility for hidden cracks, casting defects, previous repairs or material defects that become apparent during machining.
Should additional machining become necessary following inspection, the customer will be contacted before work proceeds wherever reasonably practicable.
8. Strip-Down & Inspection
Following strip-down and inspection, a revised quotation may be issued where additional work is required.
If the customer decides not to proceed, a strip-down and inspection charge of £150 plus VAT will apply.
Storage charges may then apply until the engine, gearbox or parts are collected.
9. Storage of Customer Property
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd has limited workshop and storage space. Engines, gearboxes, vehicles and other customer property left in our care may incur storage charges where they remain on our premises for reasons outside of our control.
Storage charges of £40.00 plus VAT per calendar month, or part thereof, may apply where:
- Goods or vehicles are delivered significantly before the agreed commencement date.
- Work is delayed while awaiting customer instructions or approval.
- Work cannot proceed due to customer-supplied parts, unavailable parts or third-party delays.
- The customer requests work to be paused.
- Completed goods or vehicles are not collected within 7 days of notification that they are ready for collection.
- Payment has not been made when due.
- Any other delay occurs that is outside the reasonable control of Aircooled Hut UK Ltd.
Storage charges will cease once the goods or vehicle are collected.
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd reserves the right to retain possession of any goods or vehicles until all outstanding invoices and storage charges have been paid in full.
If goods or vehicles remain uncollected after notification of completion, Aircooled Hut UK Ltd will continue to apply storage charges until such time as the accumulated charges meet or exceed the value of the item. At that point, Aircooled Hut UK Ltd reserves the right to dispose of or sell the items to recover outstanding costs, storage charges and any associated expenses, in accordance with applicable law.
Palletised Storage
Palletised engines, gearboxes, parts and other goods stored on pallet racking may incur a storage charge of £20.00 plus VAT per pallet, per calendar month, or part thereof, where storage is required beyond the agreed collection or dispatch date, or where delays are outside the reasonable control of Aircooled Hut UK Ltd.
This charge covers pallet storage space, handling and secure indoor storage and applies until the goods are collected or dispatched.
10. Vehicle Storage
Vehicles left in our care for storage or awaiting repair remain the customer's responsibility regarding insurance and personal belongings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Storage charges may apply where vehicles remain with us beyond agreed collection dates.
11. Shipping & Delivery
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd can arrange delivery on the customer's behalf using an independent third-party courier.
Risk passes to the customer once goods leave our premises.
Customers must inspect all deliveries immediately upon receipt.
Visible transit damage must be reported within 24 hours.
Shortages, defects or discrepancies must be reported within 7 days.
Courier compensation is limited and may not reflect the full value of the goods. Customers requiring full-value transit insurance should arrange their own insured courier.
12. Parts Orders
Parts ordered specifically for a customer, including special-order, non-stock or bespoke items, cannot normally be cancelled or returned unless faulty or supplied incorrectly.
Standard stocked items may be returned only if unused, unmodified and in their original packaging, subject to our Returns Policy.
13. Workshop Services
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care.
Where additional faults are discovered during dismantling or repair, customers will be contacted before further chargeable work is undertaken wherever reasonably practicable.
14. Performance & Modified Vehicles
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd specialises in performance and modified classic vehicles.
Performance upgrades may increase mechanical wear, maintenance requirements and servicing intervals compared with original factory specifications.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, no guarantee is given regarding horsepower, torque, fuel economy or performance figures.
15. Warranty
All engines, gearboxes and parts are supplied subject to the applicable Aircooled Hut UK Ltd Warranty Terms & Conditions.
Nothing contained within these Terms & Conditions affects the customer's statutory rights.
16. Cancellation of Orders
Special-order parts, custom-built engines, bespoke machine work and non-stock items cannot normally be cancelled once work has commenced or parts have been ordered.
Any costs already incurred by Aircooled Hut UK Ltd remain payable.
17. Limitation of Liability
Aircooled Hut UK Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from delays, transportation, product failure or workshop services, including but not limited to loss of earnings, vehicle recovery costs, transport costs, accommodation, storage charges, loss of business or any other financial loss.
